Autumn’s Here Let’s Make – Cranfield’s Shepherds Pie – It’s getting colder outside and, leaves are starting to fall from the trees. Autumn 2018 has finally arrived. Having a busy family that comes home at all different times of the evening. Trying to keep them all happy, is hard to do at dinner-time unless I am making Cranfield Shepherds Pie. This is an easy recipe to follow, given to me by my Mother-in-law. When I first moved out with my husband, 18 years ago.

Ingredients

  • Aberdeen Angus Beef Mince 500g.
  • 6 Potatoes.
  • 4 Carrots.
  • 6 button mushrooms.
  • 4 Large Spoons Of Bisto Best Beef Gravy.
  • 450 ml Of Water For The Gravy
  •  Table Spoon Salt.
  • Table Spoon Pepper.
  • 1 Table Spoon Brown Sauce (optional).
  • 1 Table Spoon Of Dried Basil Herbs.
  • 100 ml of Milk.
  • 50g Of Butter.
  • Large Oven Proof Dish.

Making The Mash.

  1. Peel and slice potatoes in half and place them in a saucepan filled with water.
  2. A pinch of salt, into the water.
  3. Bring the potatoes to the boil. (25 mins roughly).
  4. When potatoes are soft, bring saucepan over to the sink and drain the water in a colander.
  5. Give them a shake and put them back into the saucepan.
  6. Put in the Butter.
  7. Pour in the milk.
  8. Pinch of salt and pepper.
  9. Grab a masher and start mashing, until you have a nice creamy potato mash.
  10. Leave to one side and prepare the mInce.

Preparing The Beef Mince.

  1. Get a large saucepan or frying pan, place a tablespoon of Vegetable oil into the center.
  2. The heat on the hob should be on low.
  3. Place the Beef Mince into the pan, please keep stirring until the mince is browned.
  4. Pour in the Gravy mixed together with 400 ml of water.
  5. Peel and chop up the carrots, throw them into the pan (keep stirring).
  6. 3 pinches of salt.
  7. 2 pinches of pepper.
  8. Put the brown sauce in the pan.
  9. Slice the mushrooms in half and, put into pan.
  10. Bring to boil.
  11. Remove from the hob, and leave to one side.

To Creative Autumn’s Here Let’s Make – Cranfield’s Shepherds Pie.

  1. Get yourself an oven proof dish.
  2. Pour the Beef mince mix into the dish.
  3. Place the mash on the top of the mince.
  4. With a folk run it up the mash to create lines in the mash.
  5. 3 Pinches of basil all over the mash.
  6. 1 pinch of salt and pepper.
  7. Preheated cooker, (Electic) 190 – (Gas) 5.
  8. Place the Cranfield’s Shepherds Pie. on the middle shelves for (25 – 30 mins).
  9. Remove from oven, with a cloth or oven gloves.
  10. And enjoy! This portion size will easily feed four people.
  11. I served the shepherd’s pie with peas, it’s totally your choice.

  • Place Mats.
  • Folk And Knife Place To One Size Next To each other.
  • Coaster.
  • Glasses.
  • Flowers.
  • Candles (electric).
  • Napkins Holder & Napkins.
  • Condiments.
